The Regional Organization of Enterprises in Coastal Ostrobothnia's Provincial Entrepreneur of the Year Award to Sesca

Automation and ICT systems supplying and combining Sesca Group Oy has been awarded the Regional Organization of Enterprises in Coastal Ostrobothnia's Provincial Entrepreneur of the Year Award. The winner was announced at the Regional Organization of Enterprises in Coastal Ostrobothnia's Provincial Entrepreneur of the Year ceremony in Vaasa on Friday, November 7th 2008.

The annual award is granted to a company operating on the whole Coastal Ostrobothnia’s area and influencing on the whole area’s economy. Also the company has to be an international company, which is growing and developing.

“We are proud of the award granted to Sesca by the Regional Organization of Enterprises in Coastal Ostrobothnia. It is always an honour to receive recognition for good work from fellow entrepreneurs. In a way this award will also confirm our beliefs that the strategy we have chosen to combine automation and ICT is working,” states Marko Forsell, Senior Vice President, Business Development, Sesca Group Oy.

Sesca was founded by a group of Ostrobothnian entrepreneurs in 2005. One of them was Harri Niemelä, Industrial Counselor and Chairman of the Board of Sesca Group from Vaasa. Sesca’s business idea is to combine and supply automation and ICT systems to customers in the telecommunication, energy and process industries. Sesca is a new Finnish growth company, which has annually grown over 50 per cent regarding the amount of employees and net sales. Growth has been mostly organic, but it has also been generated by acquisitions. Net sales is expected to rise over EUR 50 million in 2008.

“Sesca is strongly an Ostrobothnian company. Half of our 700 employees work on the Coastal Ostrobothnian area in Vaasa, Pietarsaari, Raahe, Ylivieska, Seinäjoki, Kokkola and Oulu. An important resource of our company is the Ostrobothnian entrepreneurial spirit,” mentions Ulla Laalo, Senior Vice President, Group Control, Sesca Group Oy.

In addition to Finland, Sesca operates in Sweden, Estonia, Romania and the Czech Republic. Sesca aims to grow and expand abroad, primarily to China, Eastern Europe and the Nordic Countries.
