Embio Oy changed its name to Sesca Embedded Solutions Oy

Embio Oy, a design service company for telecommunication and electronics industries, has changed its name to Sesca Embedded Solutions Oy. Sesca Group Oy, a provider and an integrator of automation and ICT systems, acquired Embio’s entire capital stock in March 2008. With the acquisition Sesca targets bigger project and system deliveries and a wider customer base in the electronics and telecommunications industries. The acquisition increased the number of Sesca’s personnel to 650.

Sesca Embedded Solutions constitutes a new business area for Sesca. It concentrates on embedded systems design for telecommunications, electronics and traditional industries line of business. Sesca Embedded Solutions business area includes the following companies: Sesca Embedded Solutions Oy, ISW Oy and Purple Scout Ab.

Markku Lappalainen, a managing director of former Embio, will also act as a Managing Director for Sesca Embedded Solutions Oy and as an Executive Vice President for Sesca Embedded Solutions business area. Sesca Embedded Solutions Oy employs 155 professionals and it operates in six locations: Helsinki, Kemi, Oulu, Raahe, Tampere and Ylivieska. The whole Sesca Embedded Solutions business area has 250 employees in 10 locations in Finland and in Sweden.

Sesca is a new kind of player in the market, which delivers and integrates automation and ICT systems. This means integrating hardware and sensors, which are part of a manufacturing process, with the ICT systems by software. Gathered data is used in management and monitoring of the process. This task requires strong know-how in digital and analogical systems. Sesca Embedded Solutions offering, embedded systems design, plays a key role in integrating different kinds of systems.
