A Finland-based Sesca Group, a provider and an integrator of automation and ICT systems, today announced it has acquired Embio Oy, a design service company for telecommunication and electronics industries. With the acquisition Sesca targets bigger project and system deliveries and a wider customer base in the electronics and telecommunications industries. The acquisition increases the number of Sesca’s personnel to 650. Sesca had previously owned 12,7 percent minority share in Embio.

An effective utilization of automation and ICT systems is the key part of productivity increase in today’s enterprises. For example 50 percent of the increase in productivity is the result of automation and ICT systems utilization in Japan and in USA. The development of automation and ICT industries is strongly led by the development of component technology, which has in turn made systems increasingly intelligent and efficient.

The development also enables integration of automation and ICT systems. This means integrating hardware and sensors, which are part of a manufacturing process, with the ICT systems by software. Gathered data is used in management and monitoring of the process.
