Pilot projects on the Fleetlogis logistics system are being carried out in Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates and Oman.
Sesca Group Oy, a company that delivers and integrates automation and ICT systems, expands its operations to the logistics systems market within the Persian Gulf area. Sesca has agreed on cooperation with Dubai Technologies ltd in the United Arab Emirates, Al Kays International LLC in Oman and Integrated Logistics Company in Kuwait. The agreements cover the sales, deliveries and maintenance of the Sesca Fleetlogis logistics system within the Gulf area. The system is targeted at companies that need logistics systems for tracking the transportation of goods, passengers, food and oil, as well as for the positioning of machinery and construction site vehicles.
At the moment, Sesca and its partners are conducting a total of 5 pilot projects in Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates and Oman. The projects cover the tracking and positioning of maintenance vehicles in oil fields, cold storage transportation, as well as construction site vehicles and cranes.
The Persian Gulf area is an interesting growth market for us. In addition to the oil industry, construction is a significant industry in the area, which is indicated by huge transport flows and a high amount of transportation and construction equipment. The customers have shown interest towards the Fleetlogis system. We announced cooperation with our Omani partners in February, and since then we have launched 5 pilot projects, says Executive Vice President Riku Niemelä from Sesca Drives.
Both Al Kays, Dubai Technologies and ILC are experienced and significant operators within the Persian Gulf area. It is vital for our business operations that we have competent local partners who are able to take complete responsibility for sales, localization, deliveries and maintenance of the Fleetlogis system, Niemelä says.
Sescas Fleetlogis logistics system combines the systems of financial administration, order processing and inventory control with the information systems in the vehicles. Through the Fleetlogis system the company is able to transmit transport orders and monitor transportation progress and filling degree in real time. The system records the deliverys time of dispatch from the factory and the time of discharge at the terminal, and transmits the vehicles geographical information through GPS. It also monitors transportation temperatures and the vehicles fuel consumption and hydrocarbon emissions. In addition, the system monitors the drivers schedules and working hours, and if necessary, gives advice on safe and economical driving.
The Fleetlogis system is also available in lighter versions for the planning of transport assignments and for the GPS tracking of transportations, vehicles and various machinery and equipment.
In Finland, the Fleetlogis system is used among others by Tuko Logistics, SwanLine Oy and Kovanen Logistics Oy, as well as Tuoretie Oy, who uses Fleetlogis for tracing the products of its owners, food-processing companies Atria, Pouttu and Saarioinen, from the factorys dispatch department all the way to the distribution terminal.
