Sesca to deliver logistics system to M/s Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), Kuwait

Sesca Fleetlogis system monitors oil company’s fuel deliveries and equipments operational status

Finland-based ICT and automation solution provider Sesca Group Oy delivers Sesca Fleetlogis logistics system to Kuwait-based Integrated Logistics Company (ILC) for monitoring and controlling fuel and equipment deliveries. ILC has won the service contract with KOC and are in charge of the transportation and equipment supply to Kuwait Oil Co. (KOC), the national oil company of Kuwait. With the help of the system ILC makes the tracking and the monitoring of transportation & vehicle availability status within KOC Oil fields.

Through Sesca Fleetlogis system KOC is able to monitor the time of dispatch from the yard and the time of discharge at the fields, and to track the vehicle’s geographical information through GPS. System also monitors the vehicle’s fuel consumption and hydrocarbon emissions, and the driver’s schedules and working hours. Important feature for KOC is also the monitoring of driver’s driving habits, speeding, sudden breakings and accelerations are recorded and reported within the system.

ILC is also able to use Fleetlogis system to make work shift and resources planning related to fuel transports and to make fleet maintenance and service work planning. Information is also transmitted to salary payment and billing systems. Fleetlogis devices, which transmit the information to the main system, are being installed to all 27 transportation vehicles serving KOC. The implementation of Fleetlogis system was completed during November 2009.

It also makes our operations more secure and environmentally friendly”, says Mr. Saleh Suleiman Al-Huwaidi, the Chief Executive Officer of Integrated Logistics Company.

The Project Manager and the IT coordinator of ILC is very pleased with the trial performance provided by SESCA and the flexibility in handling the information system software which is user friendly. The Client KOC are also equally satisfied with the trail performamnce.

We are satisfied that among many pilot projects Integrated Logistics Company has decided to implement our system”, says Mr. Jukka Kuusinen, Executive Vice President of Sesca.

Sesca announced last spring that is has agreed on cooperation with Integrated Logistics Company in Kuwait, Dubai Technologies Ltd in the United Arab Emirates and Al Kay’s International LLC in Oman covering the sales, deliveries and maintenance of the Sesca Fleetlogis logistics system within the Persian Gulf area. Cooperating parties target customers who need logistics systems for tracking the transportation of goods, passengers, food and oil, as well as for the positioning of machinery and construction site vehicles.

“The whole Persian Gulf area is an interesting growth market for us. In addition to the oil industry, construction is a significant industry in the area, which is indicated by huge transport flows and a high amount of transportation and construction equipment. Also passenger and food transportation including cold-storage transportation is an attractive market for us”, says Kuusinen.

Sesca Fleetlogis in brief

Sesca’s Fleetlogis logistics system combines the systems of financial administration, order processing and inventory control with the information systems in the vehicles. Through the Fleetlogis system the company is able to transmit transport orders and monitor transportation progress and filling degree in real time. The system records the delivery’s time of dispatch from the factory and the time of discharge at the terminal, and transmits the vehicle’s geographical information through GPS.

It also monitors transportation temperatures and the vehicle’s fuel consumption and hydrocarbon emissions. In addition, the system monitors the driver’s schedules and working hours, and if necessary, gives advice on safe and economical driving. The Fleetlogis system is also available in lighter versions for planning of transport assignments and for GPS tracking of transportations, vehicles and various machinery and equipment.

In Finland, the Fleetlogis system is used among others by Tuko Logistics, SwanLine Oy and Kovanen Logistics Oy, as well as Tuoretie Oy, who uses Fleetlogis for tracing the products of its owners, food-processing companies Atria, Pouttu and Saarioinen, from the factory’s dispatch department all the way to the distribution terminal.
